What CheckFacture checks
About forty checks drawn from French commercial and tax law and the EN 16931 standard.
Identity
SIREN and SIRET checksums, VAT number matching the SIREN, seller and buyer identified.
VAT and totals
VAT per rate, net + VAT = gross, valid French rates, 293 B exemption, reverse charge.
Fraud
Duplicate invoices, invalid IBANs, IBANs that changed since the supplier's last invoices.
Payment
Due date within 60 days, late-payment penalties, €40 recovery fee.
Mentions
Number, dates, quantities, unit prices, discount terms, legal form, credit notes and deposits.
E-invoicing
Factur-X profile, PDF/A-3, PDF vs XML consistency, EN 16931 rules.
What a bad invoice costs you
An irregular invoice isn't just paperwork: it costs money, both to the business that issues it and to the one that pays it.
The diverted transfer
A fake supplier or a quietly changed IBAN: the money goes to a fraudster and is rarely recovered. CheckFacture compares the IBAN with the supplier's earlier invoices.
VAT you can't deduct
The tax office can refuse the VAT deduction on an incomplete or wrong invoice. On €10,000 net, that's €2,000 to pay back.
Per missing mention
Tax fine per omission or error, capped at a quarter of the invoice amount (French Tax Code, art. 1737).
For a company
Maximum administrative fine for an invoice breaching the Commercial Code: €75,000 for an individual, doubled for repeat offences (art. L441-16).
The double payment
The same invoice received by email and then by post, paid twice. CheckFacture recognises an invoice it has already checked.
Late payments
Flat recovery fee owed per invoice paid late, on top of penalties. That assumes the due date on the invoice is clear.
Ready for France's e-invoicing reform
CheckFacture reads all three reform formats and compares the visible PDF with the XML inside it: what you read must be what your books record.
Every business must be able to receive e-invoices.
SMEs and micro-businesses must issue them.
And for your own invoices: issue them as Factur-X
Enter your company once, pick a customer, add your lines: CheckFacture produces a Factur-X e-invoice (PDF/A-3, EN 16931 profile) with every mandatory mention and continuous numbering. Your first invoice is free.
Your invoices stay with you
PDFs and XML files are checked right in your browser or on your phone: they're never uploaded. Only photos and scanned invoices go through text recognition, and they aren't stored.

FAQ
Does CheckFacture replace my accountant?
No. It helps you check: it flags problems to confirm with your supplier or accountant before paying.
Which mentions did the reform make mandatory?
Four mentions are added: the customer's SIREN, the delivery address if it differs from the customer's address, the type of transaction (goods, services or both) and, where it applies, the option to pay VAT on debits. CheckFacture checks all of them.
Which businesses does the reform apply to?
Every VAT-registered business in France, for sales between businesses. Since 1 September 2026 all of them must be able to receive e-invoices; large and mid-sized companies already issue them, and SMEs and micro-businesses will from 1 September 2027.
Can I check the invoices I issue?
Yes. The checks are the same: check your own invoices before sending them to avoid fines and late payments from your customers.
Do you keep my invoices?
PDFs and XML files never leave your device. With an account, only the key fields and the check result are kept for the history (supplier, number, date, amounts, IBAN) to spot duplicates and IBAN changes. Photos are read, then deleted. You can delete your account and all its history at any time.
Do I need an account?
Not for the first check. An account (an email, no password) keeps a history to catch duplicates and IBAN changes.
Does my subscription work on my phone?
Yes: sign in with the same email on the website and in the app.
How do I cancel?
From your account, "Manage subscription". For a subscription bought on iPhone or Android, in App Store or Google Play settings.
